Self-adhesive PDLC smart film is a product that is capable of adjusting light transmission between transparent and opaque by using AC power. Due to moisture sensitivity, earlier versions of the film were used only to make smart glass by lamination. With continual improvement in moisture resistance, the new (3rd) generation of the film can be directly installed on existing windows with special glue or self-adhesive. It combines many functions, such as light adjustment, UV and infrared blocking, advertising and security.

Installation Steps of Self-adhesive PDLC Film
①Preparation Tools Before Installation

②Unpack Before Installation.
Unscrew our packaging with a utility knife tool,open the film and place it on the ground for 1 hour.

Collision during transportation, check whether the electrode connection is normal.

④Clean The Glass Before Installation
Use glass cleaning fluid to spray the glass to get wet, and then start cleaning with a glass scraper tool.Note: There must be no foreign objects on the glass surface.

Use a newspaper or absorbent cloth to wipe off the water on the glass. The film should be applied dry, not wet.

⑥Tear Off the Protective Layer
Before starting the film, tear off the protective coating on the front of the film. It is best to have 3 people on the sceneto pick up and install. This film is not easy to stick.

⑧Bubble Foreign Matter Solution
During the filming process, there are foreign objects on the glass surface, which causes blistering.Solution: Disassemble the utility knife, extract the blade, and remove the foreign objects on the glass surface.

After affixing the film, start trimming with special glass glue for switchable glass to ensure that the film is not corroded by other substances.

When designing and constructing, in order to be beautiful, choose to install the film into the
window frame, you should pay attention to the construction size.

(2)Window Frame-Exposed Type
On the basis of the original glass, choose to install the film on the surface without
entering the window frame.

(3) Seamless-Splicing Type
When designing and constructing, in order to be beautiful,construction can be carried out by means of glass splicing glass.And considering that some glass has a chamfer, the gap between the glass and the glass should be no less than 3mm. Depending on the construction environment, it can consider to be embedded or exposed type.

Conditions Not Recommended for Installation:
1.Working site is too dirty.
2.Unqualified Glass situation such as: outdoor, dirt, full of bumps and holes on the surface.
3.Other site problem such as: strong light,insufficient wiring system, shortage of matched equipment, and etc.
Suggestions:
1.Keep the light source at least 1 meter off the film;
2.Avoid direct light on the surface of the film;
3.Avoid strong light;
4.Keep the film off humid environment;
5.Avoid sharp objects;
6.Install a shelter on top of the film
The following situations should be considered as qualified products.
1.Flaws that within the range of acceptance.
2.Slight color difference between films applied in different areas;
3.Slight rainbow reflection
4.Slight wavy stitches
5.Altered haze level in different viewing angles (ON mode);
6.Different haze level for multiple films when the power is under control of dimming device.
7.Flicker and distortion will be seen when the film was projected by a DLP projector.
Notes For Sticking Film
1.The film is based on electrostatic adsorption, and it doesn’t need other adhesive materials for installation.
2.Do not fold or twist the film, which might lead to failure of installation.
3.Make sure the glass surface is clean before installation.
4.Keep away from the sharp objects that can scratch and damage the film.
5.Tiny bubbles does not affect the function of the film.
Maintenance & After-sales
1.Maintenance:Do not use liquid cleanser to clean the film, which is possible to cause short circuit. Dry fiber cloth is recommended.
2.The quality problem should be submitted within 15 days after receive the films. Please do not tear up the protection layer.
3.Responsibility:Our company will be responsible for all quality problems before installation. For problems arise after installation, customer should contact our after-sales department and provide required information. An assessment will be made before the final responsibility is concluded.
